About the Kaumarbhritya Department
Ayurveda the science of life is divided into eight branches, out of these, Kaumarbhritya (Balroga) is one of them. Kaumarbhritya is the science about the nourishment of child, Dhatri, vitiation of breast milk and Graharoga along with their treatment. The term "Kaumarbhritya" is derived from two Sanskrit words: "Kaumar" meaning "childhood," and "Bhritya" meaning "care." Therefore, Kaumarbhritya focuses on the care, management, and treatment of pediatric diseases and health issues. It deals with everything from preventing diseases to promoting proper growth and mental well-being. Practitioners guide parents on nutrition, immunity, and daily care practices, ensuring children grow strong and healthy.

It emphasizes the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the child for optimal health and development.
Maternal Health
The scope of Kaumarbhritya extends to the nourishment and care of the mother, covering antenatal (during pregnancy) and postnatal (after delivery) periods to ensure the well-being of both mother and child.
